Mick and Hilary bought Collector Models AU with big plans to grow it. The website wasn’t ready to keep up. Custom built, hard to edit, and quietly holding the business back, it needed fixing before anything else could happen.
So we gave it a full rebuild. Shopify as the new platform, POS built in for in-person selling, and Klaviyo running email marketing behind the scenes. All timed and ready before AgQuip Field Days. Here’s what that upgrade is already delivering.
Built for the Big Days, Not Just the Quiet Ones
Moving a catalogue this size (well over 3,000 active products, from Ertl to Case IH) takes more than a copy-paste job. Every product, price, stock level and brand collection was rebuilt from scratch to actually work together.
The real test came at AgQuip. With Shopify POS on site, the team could take payments, check stock and process sales on the spot. No separate systems, no workarounds. Just one setup that handled the whole event.
Sales That Used to Slip Through the Cracks
Here’s the part that keeps paying off. We set up abandoned cart emails and they are already working. Someone adds a model to their cart, gets distracted, and a well-timed follow-up brings them straight back to finish the purchase.
That’s sales the business was quietly losing, now recovered.
Full Control, Finally
The biggest win might be the one that’s hardest to put a number on. Mick and Hilary can now see exactly what’s selling, adjust pricing, manage stock and make changes themselves, whenever they need to. No waiting, no middleman.
Since launch: new signups, new customers, and sales that simply weren’t happening before.
“The POS was so easy to use at the Field Days, we could focus on talking to customers instead of worrying about the tech. The new website is just as easy, and we’re already seeing new customers and sales we wouldn’t have had before. Straight Lines made the whole process easy from start to finish.”

The Takeaway
A website upgrade isn’t just a fresh coat of paint. It’s a big call for new business owners to make early on, but getting the foundations right before switching on marketing is exactly why this one is already paying off.
If your website is holding you back, or you suspect you’re leaving sales on the table, let’s talk about what a rebuild could do for your business.
